Curious about the status of your Economic Impact Payment? Use this link to the IRS. They have answers that we don’t. We hope you find this helpful.

December 30, 2020

The second round of stimulus checks began being processed last night. Just as with the first stimulus payments, if you are eligible and your 2019 return was direct deposited, the check will be deposited into that same account. If you are eligible and opted for a mailed check for your 2019 return, your stimulus check will arrive by mail. Payments are not all made at the same time, so please be patient. The most efficient explanation and a second stimulus check calculator can be found on Kiplinger’s site. Are you expecting the payment to be direct deposited into your GFCU account? If so, we recommend you watch for it by using our digital banking, rather than calling the Credit Union, as that ties up the lines and personnel. Thank you.

With the Coronavirus affecting so much of our daily lives, we want to assure you that you are our first priority. We also need to keep you and our staff safe and healthy. Access to your money will remain safe and secure.
We will remain open and available to serve our members, however as a precaution, starting March 18, 2020, all branch transactions will be done through the drive up only. Our lobby will be closed until further notice. Most everything can be done at the drive-thru, including shared branching, money orders and corporate checks. We also have a secure night deposit box, which can be used throughout the day, to avoid drive up lines, if you are simply making a deposit or dropping off paperwork. *This Wednesday, phones and drive-up will be open to members, beginning at 8:00 AM.
If you haven’t signed up for digital banking or iTalk, now is the perfect time. Please visit our website for more details on any of the above services or feel free to contact any of our staff and we will gladly provide you information or assist you in setting up any of these products.
We will continue to have staff at Gardiner FCU, to serve you. If you need a loan, our loan officers can be reached, during regular business hours, by phone or text at 207-582-2676. Our MSR team can also be texted, during regular hours at 207-582-0012. If you need access to your safe deposit box, please call 207-582-2676, for an appointment.
We continue to monitor recommendations from the World Health Organization and both the state and federal Centers for Disease Control.
Our only request of our members is that if you have been exposed to someone showing symptoms of COVID-19, or if you are not feeling well, that you remain home and contact your doctor. The best way to limit the spread of this disease is to avoid human-to-human interaction with people who may be infected.
Finally, if you or anyone in your family has been impacted by COVID-19 and need financial support, we are here to help. Our staff is ready to provide financial guidance and discuss solutions that may be available to you. Also, we want you to be aware of scams and misinformation designed to prey on fear and uncertainty. The best place to find the most accurate and up to date information is the CDC page or the Maine CDC page.
We’ll continue to keep you updated, through our Facebook page and website, as circumstances change. Thank you and stay well.

With many incoming calls, we can be hard to reach. We’d like to remind all of our members of the 24/7 access to their accounts, for balance inquiries, transfers and more, which are available to you through our many convenience services.
iTalk: The perfect 24/7 solution for members who do not want online or mobile banking. Easy phone access to check your balances and deposits. iTalk is also a great option to get that information quickly, when we are not available to take your calls.
Home Banking: You can look at your accounts, make transfers and loan payments & schedule transfers between accounts, from your PC, tablet or smart phone.

March 13, 2020

With ongoing concerns about the Coronavirus COVID-19, Gardiner FCU would like to keep our members informed about what we are doing to keep our members and staff healthy. Throughout the day, staff will be using disinfecting wipes on door handles, and communal surfaces in our lobby area. Our drive-thru tellers will also be using the wipes on the “drive-thru tubes” throughout the day.
We have asked that any staff members who are sick and/or exhibit any symptoms associated with this virus stay home. We request that any members who are sick, or have potentially been exposed, please select from our many convenience services, instead of visiting the lobby. Likewise, for your own safety, we encourage those with a history of respiratory problems, or compromised immune systems, take extra precautions to protect yourselves. We care about our members and our community.

For Your Convenience:
If you are trying to limit your exposure to others, or if you are sick, our drive thru is open the same hours as our lobby; Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri from 8 – 5 & Wed from 9 – 5.
